Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American writer and cartoonist,that published over 60 children's books,adapted numerous times, including eleven television
specials, three feature films, and a Broadway Musical. The first adaptation
of one of Geisel's works was a cartoon version of Horton Hatches the Egg,
animated at Warner Brothers.
After Geisel died of cancer at the age of 87 in 1991, his widow was
placed in charge of all licensing matters. and
Two television programs have been adapted from Geisel's work. The first, The
Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, The second, Gerald McBoing-Boing, is an
animated television adaptation of Geisel's 1951 cartoon of the same
name.Geisel's books and characters also feature in Seuss Landing, an
"island" at the Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida.
