The Republic of Zambia is a landlocked country in

British as protectorate of Northern Rhodesia towards the end of the
nineteenth century. until the protectorate gained independence with the

diversification programme. The average per capita
income is $395, placing Zambia as one of the world's poorest countries.

and formerly Southern Rhodesia, the Republic of Rhodesia and Zimbabwe
Rhodesia, is a landlocked country in the southern part of the continent
of Africa. The official language of Zimbabwe is English. However, the
majority of the population speaks Shona, which is the native language of
the Shona people, a Bantu language; the country's other native language
is Sindebele.
