Proclamation of the "Temes".
Temes county was located in the Banat region. The county first became
part of the newly formed Banat Republic, a short-lived state, proclaimed
in Timisoara, on October 31, 1918, as the Austro-Hungarian Empire
collapsed. The republic was an attempt to preserve the integrity of the
multi-ethnic Banat region in the face of claims from rival nations.
