The loti , first issued in 1966, is the currency of the Kingdom of Lesotho,
it is subdivided into 100 lisente and it is pegged to the South
African rand on a 1:1 basis through the Common Monetary Area
From 1847 and 1907 and since 1943.The dollar has been the currency
of Liberia It is divided
into 100 cents.Five-dollar notes were introduced in the eighties, known
as "J. J. Roberts" notes, which bore the portrait of J. J.
Roberts. In
the nineties similar notes replaced the portrait
with Liberia's arms. These were known as "Liberty" notes. In 1997, new
banknotes were introduced in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100
dollars, and are in current use. |
