Axis & Allies is a popular series of World War II strategy board games In all
of the editions of the core game, up to five players can take control of
one of the Axis (Germany or Japan) or Allied (the U.K., the U.S.S.R., or
the U.S.A.) nations. The object of the game is to win the war by
capturing enough critical territories.
Axis & Allies , streamlining for simplicity of drama so that both sides
have an opportunity, is not a rigorous historic wargame. The economical
example is simplistic, with each soil producing an amount of "IPCs"
(Industrial Production Certificates) better toward the purchase of any
unit. Moreover, the game is supposed to begin in the spring of 1942, but
Japan is instantly in stance to assault Hawaii again, while Germany is
pressed easily into the U. S. S. R. with an initially excellent
personnel. Another substantial disagreement is that the Soviet Union and
Japan are opponents at the beginning of the game; historically, they did
not get to warfare with each new until 1945. If the game were truer to
story, the Axis empires would be at their apex at this moment, about to
be pushed back house – but, of class, that would not be a really
aggressive match.
