A video game is a game that involves interaction with an user interface to yield visual feedback on a video device.
The language picture in video game traditionally refers to a raster exhibit device However, with the favorite consumption of the condition "picture game", it now implies any character of exhibit device. The electronic systems used to beat picture games are known as platforms; examples of these are private computers and video game consoles. These platforms are comprehensive in scope, from big computers to tiny handheld devices. Specialized picture games such as arcade games, while previously popular, have gradually declined in consumption. The input device usually used to misrepresent video games is called a game accountant, which varies across platforms. For example, a dedicated console accountant might comprise of simply a button and a joystick, or have a dozen buttons and one or much joysticks. Early private computer based games historically relied on the accessibility of a keyboard for gameplay, or more commonly, required the user to purchase a separate joystick with at least one button to play. Many modern computer games allow the player to use a keyboard and mouse simultaneously.

Video games were introduced  in 1971, becoming the basis for an important entertainment industry  After a disastrous collapse and a rebirth two years later, the video game industry has experienced sustained growth for over two decades to becoming the most profitable entertainment industry in the world.
