Peter Carl Fabergé made exquisitely decorated precious metal and gemstone eggs --  resembled standard decorated eggs -- for the Russian Court.

A Fabergé egg is any one of sixty-nine jewelled eggs made by Peter Carl Fabergé and his assistants between
1885 and 1917..The eggs are made of precious metals or hard stones decorated with combinations of enamel and gem stones. The themes and appearance of the eggs varied widely.as the name inplies in  the Azova Egg, Coronation ,Cuckoo , Danish Palaces , Lilies of the Valley  , Renaissance ,R esurrection  , Spring Flowers  ,
Trans-Siberian Railway  ,Peter the Great , Gold Pelican & Czarevich Egg .
The term "Fabergé Egg" has become a synonym of luxury and the eggs are regarded as masterpieces of the jeweler's art.

In modern times Victor Mayer, the inheritor of the Fabergé brand, creates "Fabergé eggs" that are inspired
by the originals.
