 The only Mexican Comics genre that survived was the comic genre known as the "Sensacionales" or "La revista vaquera", very low quality black and white comics printed in tones of sepia.  In the 1990s the industry started to come back to life with  El cerdotado or Buba that managed to get anthologies of their strips. In this decade manga arrived with titles like Dragon Ball and Video Girl Ai. In the last years attempts of autonomous comics like Meteorix 5.9 and Goji: Un dragón con Ángel.

The Argentine comic had its golden age between the mid 1940s and the 1960s, when a number of foreign artists, including many Italians, arrived in Argentina following World War
After The Intervalo magazine , Patoruzito magazine,  Misterix  magazine,   a number of new publications appeared, such as D'Artagnan, Fantasía. the Hora Cero magazine,El Eternauta ,  Mort Cinder , Quino's Mafalda  and Mordillo in the humor genre, and Anteojito y Antifaz for children.  1978 saw the birth of satirical humor magazine Humor by Ediciones de la Urraca. and erotic comic Las puertitas del Sr. López by Altuna-Trillo, After the return of democracy in late 1983 a new cultural wave starte and Argentine creators started producing self-published zine with magazines such as El Cazador or Ultra.
