From 1948 through 1958, Western comic books were at the peak of
their popularity. AC Comics has reprinted some of the Western
comic book stories based on the popular B-Western film stars of
the era, such as Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Durango Kid, Tim Holt,
Tom Mix and Rocky Lane. There is also a good selection of books
with reprinted stories based on fictional comic book cowboy
characters. Some of the greatest Golden-Age comic book artists
did Westerns...Frank Frazetta, Bob Powell, John Buscema and Dick
Ayers.
