In the eighteen century 1, 5 and 10 para were first issued with the
obverses featuring the portrait of Prince Mihailo Obrenović III. Silver coins
were introduced in later on in denominations of 50 para, 1 and 2 dinara, followed
by 5 dinara. The first gold coins were also issued were 10 and 20
dinara. The gold coins issued for the
coronation of Milan I were called milandor At the end of the century cupro-nickel 5, 10 and 20 para coins
followed by bronze 2 para were issued.
In the forties zinc coins of 50 para, 1 and 2 dinara,
with 10 dinara coins following were issued..
Coins currently in circulation are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 dinara coins. All
featuring identical inscriptions in
Cyrillic and Latin.
