San Marino's first coins were copper 5 centesimi followed by copper 10 centesimi, first issued in 1875.
Silver 50 centesimi, 1, 2 and 5 lire were
issued in 1898,and also minted in 1906.
In the thirtirs silver 5, 10 and 20 lire and bronze 5 and 10 centesimi were
added
In the seventies 1, 2, 5,
10, 20, 50, 100 , 200 and 500 lire were issued, all of which were struck to the same
specifications as the corresponding Italian coin but changing design every year.
