In the sixties 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100
fils were issued for
baharain The 1, 5 and 10 fils in bronze, with the others in
cupro-nickel. In the nineties brass replaced bronze in the 5 and 10 fils and a bimetallic
100 & 500 fils coin was issued
In theeighties coins for 1⁄12 and ¼ anna (⅓ and 1 paisa) were minted specifically
for use in Muscat and Oman.
In the forties coins of 10, 20 and 50
baisa and ½ rial coins were added followed by 3 baisa and 2,
5 and 20 baisa coins were issued for use in Oman followed by 3 baisa, ½ and 1 rial coins.
In the seventies a coinage for all of Muscat and Oman of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 baisa
were issued. In 1975, new coins was issued with the country's
name given as Oman followed by ¼ and ½ rial coins .
In the sixties Qatar and Dubai coins for 1, 5, 10, 25
and 50 dirham mwere issued.Later a new series of coins was introduced in the same sizes but in the name of Qatar only.
