In the forties aluminium-bronze coins of 1, 5, 10, 25
and 50 centimos were issued Featuring a flower with "Republica del
Paraguay" and the date surrounding it, except for the 50 centavos, which
featured the lion and Liberty cap insignia. In the fifties 10, 15, 25 and 50 centimos
coins. were again minted in aluminium-bronze but were scallop shaped and
featured the lion and Liberty cap on the obverse.
In the seventies 1, 5, 10 and 50 guaranies of stainless steel. were issued.
later replaced by brass plated steel nickel-brass. In the nineties 100 guaranies coins
, 500 guaranies and 1000 guaranies coins were issued followed by new types of 50, 100 and 500 guaranies, in 2007.

10, 20 and 50 centésimos and brass 1 and 2 pesos uruguayos were issued followed
by 5 and 10 pesos uruguayos . Coins today in circulation are:
