In the eighteen century, copper 1 and 2 cents coins were issued and were the only Liberian coins
until the end of the century, when a full coinage consisting of 1, 2, 10, 25 and
50 cents coins were introduced. The last issues were made in 1906.
In the thirties, coins were issued in denominations of ½, 1 and 2 cents.followed in 1960
by coins for 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50 cents and 1 dollar. Five-dollar coins were
issued in the eighties.
TogoThe franc was the currency of
Togo. Currently, Togo uses the West African CFA franc but, between 1924 and
1956, coins specifically for use in Togo were issued.
In 1924, aluminium-bronze 50 centimes, 1 and 2 francs were issued, with the
franc denominations minted again in the twenties and the 50 centimes struck until 1926.
In the forties, aluminium 1 and 2 francs coins were introduced, followed by
aluminium-bronze 5 francs in the fifties.
