For many years the J.W. McCoy Pottery Co. produced simple, utilitarian stoneware
pieces. untill in 1904 it began the production of art pottery. The art
pottery consisted of decorative items such as

jars. The manufacturer's presence
has extended to vases, wall pocket, beer sets, beer pots, bowls planter,centerbowls, flower pots, grease jar,jars, jam pot, cornucopia, creamer, cookie
jar, canisters,
consoles, Serving bowls, bookends, compote, cigarette box, conch shell, console
set, candleholder, bulb bowl, busts, canister set, bookends, lamps. pitchers,
jardinieres, incence burners, ashtray, humidors. baskets, powder jars, temple
jars, water coolers, washing
pots.
In 1909 old J.B. Owens Pottery was puchased and as a consequence, the name
was changed to the Brush-McCoy Pottery Co. iI 1925 the name was changed
again to Brush Pottery Co and it operated
under that name until 1982.
